Taxcan Hands is being established to raise the standard of living of the working poor in Taxco, Mexico and to share their artwork and jewelry with the world.
Having spent a significant amount of time living, working, traveling and studying Latin America I've developed a love for the region and want to share the region's rich offerings with the world while improving its peoples' standard of living.
The goal of Taxcan Hands (pronounced Tascan Hands) will be to create commerce to lift individuals out of poverty with an emphasis on education and community building. My father always told me, "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he has food for a lifetime"--let's create sustainable economic growth in Latin America through fair trade and education.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I welcome your thoughts, ideas and advice on the organization or region.
Best,
Erin Stevens
